When our two families met all those years ago, I had no idea I would gain a BFF and four more sisters, but I’m so glad I did.  Over the years we have spread out over the states and our times together have been far and few between.  Yet we have continued to do life together even from afar and together when possible.  Celebrating the big events and grieving over the hard seasons together.

This past weekend we pulled off what seemed to be the impossible and came together for a sister weekend in Troutdale, VA.  It seemed appropriate that the small cabin we found to rent was named the Two Sisters cabin.  There was a lot of laughter, and a few tears over the weekend as we reconnected and again were able to catch up and share in person the highs and lows of the last couple of years.

The Two Sister’s Cabin

Troutdale, VA

On our first morning, my sister’s and I woke up to beautiful early morning light filtering through the woods to our window.  Since we had gotten in later and it was getting dark we had saved our exploring till the next day.  So I got dressed, grabbed my camera and picked my way through the small swath of trees to see what was over the ridge.  This was the view I found!
